Nate SabelWe were a bit nervous about the expense and process of getting solar up and running, but Lumina (and our contact Courtney Sollenberger) was a great company to work with throughout the process. I'd definitely recommend that others talk to them before selecting a solar company.Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Nate Sabel
Matthew CawthorneI was really excited with the idea of getting a rooftop PV system, and Lumina had really good reviews. Their price was nearly identical to another very highly rated company in my area and I liked the look of the REC panels so we went with Lumina. During the initial sizing I proposed a symmetric configuration that was pleasing to the eye and was told 'we can discuss the exact configuration during the engineering phase'. Well, I was never contacted until all of the approvals were complete and at that point it was too late to get the configuration that I wanted. The Lumina configuration was unsymmetric and had 1 fewer panel on the highly productive south facing roof. It was not the end of the world, but I take pride in the aesthetics of my house. In the end I was able to get them to make it symmetric, but with the one less panel in the good orientation. The biggest problem, however is that the panels on the front of the house are in a nearly ideal orientation, facing almost south, and with a roof pitch that is good for this latitude. The 400+ watt panels are oriented well enough that they should be able to generate close to 400 watts during the middle of the day (cloud cover permitting). Lumina specified and installed 300 watt inverters so those panels never produce more than 300 watts. Instead of a sine wave for production I get a curve that is clipped flat on top. 300 watt inverters are ok for the back of the house where the sun angles are not as ideal and the panels cannot produce as much power, but not for the front. So why am I giving them 4 stars? Well, their Operations department that scheduled and performed the installation did a really good job and were a delight to work with. The workmanship is really good and everything has been functioning for the first 16 months of operation. There were no surprises in the pricing.Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Matthew Cawthorne
Rodney MartinLumina solar is an amazing company to deal with. There are very knowledgeable, and great communication through the entire process. My township had an old ordinance that prevented the size of system that I needed. Lumina worked and kept me informed as to what we needed to do to get the permits. Everyone from the start to the finish was nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this company.Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Rodney Martin
ZYaroszLumina has done an Excellent job. Their process was smooth. Our project manager Allison Sanders navigated us through all the steps handedly. I always felt well informed, communication was thorough and timely. Ali was professional yet easy to talk with on all the particulars. The install teams were also communicative and we are very pleased with the results. 10/10 no notesReview of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by ZYarosz
Ruxin ZBought a 38 panels system in 2023 August from Lumina. Their price is great with the newest solar panel in the market. We compared other companies at the beginging, but they provide less efficient and lower quality solar panels with higher price. So we went with Lumina and we are glad that we made the right choice. Christopher has been patience along the way to explanin details and our questions. We really appreciated it!Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Ruxin Z
LathaWhat can I say...from our initial consult with Christopher Richardson to handling all the final details post install by Stephanie and Mary...it was practically perfection. I say "practically" because there were some minor hiccups that cropped up, as is to be expected sometimes, but were handled immediately. As a new home owner, working with different contractors to get things done can be pretty challenging and downright exhausting. But with Lumina, the experience and the road to the install was the most painless experience to date...they handled everything from permits, to working with our HOA, to the electric company and securing tax credits and whatever else needed to be done along the way to get us going all the while keeping us in the loop but only involving us when necessary. This was very much appreciated as there was a lot on my plate already. Best of all, their estimated timelines were spot on which allowed me to make other related plans with confidence. We researched many solar companies before settling on Lumina. Their prices are competitive. They have a wonderful team. We felt supported throughout the process and still do. Look no further. I highly recommend them!Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Latha
Bob SchoenfeldThe Lumina Solar crew are exceptional installers . We've had solar power for a little over a year and have saved roughly $300 per month in utility bills. They're quite professional and knowledgeable about the process.Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Bob Schoenfeld
Ron FilipowiczI had a very positive, 5 star experience with Lumina and specifically with the sales process led by Pete Hayes. He was very professional, transparent and thoughtful. He followed through with everything he said he would do and maintained contact with me through the whole process. He was quick to answer questions and inform me of the steps/what to expect. I’m very pleased with going solar. Lumina and Pete Hayes receive my highest recommendation.Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Ron Filipowicz
Viken PatelIf I could give more than 5 stars I would. I couldn't be more happier with Phillip Jordan and the entire Lumina Solar team. From the day I contacted Phillip, he was responsive, professional and thorough in explaining and answering all my questions regarding switching to Solar. He came up with the design that fit my needs. He guided me through each and every step of the process, answering all my questions during the install. Even after my install, Phillip is always a text message away. That is the level of dedication they have towards their customers which is the main reason I went with Lumina. I even recommended Phillip to few of my friends and family members and most of them already switched to Solar. Thank you so much to Phillip and the Lumina Team for helping me in transitioning to a more sustainable future.Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Viken Patel
Corey DeSimoneI shopped around for solar panels at a few places including Tesla, and none of the companies stood out to me like Lumina Solar. I’m all about customer service, and working with Philip Jordan was by far the best experience I could’ve asked for.. He had answers to all my crazy questions (and there were a lot) and taught me a lot about solar in general, while not being your typical pushy salesman at the same time. He found me the best, affordable price coupled with top of the line products and tech. I recommend him to all of my friends/family and neighbors interested in solar. Lumina Solar all the way!Review of Lumina Solar PA in Lancaster County Pennsylvania by Corey DeSimone

Imagine the sun as an unrelenting artist, painting your rooftop with streams of energy. But not all canvases are produced equal. In Lancaster County Pennsylvania, where solar irradiance dances with seasonal shifts, developing a property solar energy system requires more than just slapping panels on a roofing system. The subtle art lies in recording optimum sunlight while navigating the peculiarities of regional weather and architectural subtleties.

The Puzzle of Orientation and Tilt

What if I told you that a few degrees difference in panel tilt could mean the distinction in between a power-packed year and a frustrating output? Lancaster County Pennsylvania's latitude recommends a tilt angle near to 30-40 degrees, but do not rush-- aspects like roof pitch, shading from towering trees, and even chimney shadows can significantly skew efficiency.

  • South-facing roofing systems are ideal, but east or west can still yield decent energy if optimized.
  • Changing panel angles seasonally isn't useful for a lot of property owners, yet fixed installs should be chosen sensibly.
  • Partial shading, even from a thin branch, triggers out of proportion drops in output-- microinverters or power optimizers can alleviate this impact.

One neglected snag is the credit history requirement. Financing alternatives often depend upon your creditworthiness, which can derail the process for many eager house owners. Plus, the ever-changing energy market adds unpredictability-- what if your expected savings do not emerge as projected?

Quick Contrast Table: Funding vs. Leasing

Aspect Funding Leasing
Ownership You own the system Company owns the system
Upfront Expense Greater (loan or money) Low to none
